5 Things You Should Know Before Buying a Blu-Ray Player

5 Things You Should Know Before Buying a Blu-Ray Player

Hd Media Player

Unless you were living under a rock since 2006 when Hd Dvd and Blu-ray went head to head in the battle for high definition video then you may now realise that Blu-ray has emerged victorious.

If you have never owned or seen a Blu-ray movie playing then you positively are in for a treat. Imagine watching a movie so clear and crisp that you feel like you are watching the movie onset while it is being filmed. That is how clear Blu-ray is and this can't be overstated enough, once you see Blu-ray you'll want one and once you own one you'll never go back!

So how do you go about getting the best Blu-ray player for your money or the best bang for your buck.

Well there are 5 things you should be watching out for even if your budget is small.

Supported Resolutions: ensure that any player you buy supports 1080p. Be careful with salespeople who tell you that it doesn't matter as I can assure you that it does and you will notice!

Bonus View: This one is a minute hard to clarify but Bonus view is basically a way for your Blu-ray player to play special features of the disc. If it doesn't have Bonus View then stay away!

Bd-Live: Although not essential, Bd-Live will allow your player to play interactive content that you can find online, which means that your Blu-ray player should have a network port. Not important but a bonus no the less.

Internal Storage: If you geta player that is 'online' then ensure to check out how much internal warehouse your player has. The last thing you want is to be constantly running out of space, more is better!

Supported Media: The compelling thing about most Dvd players was their quality to play most types of disc without complaint. Check which formats your chosen Blu-ray player supports as you don't want to be stuck with a large estimate of home burnt home movies from the last 5 years that you can't play because your player doesn't support the Cd-Rw format!

The one other possibility, especially if you're a gaming fan, is the Ps3 which plays Blu-ray discs thanks to its built in Blu-ray player. Although it may not have some of the features previously mentioned, it is surely a worthy Blu-ray player in its own right and you can also play games with it as well!
